12 New Projects Approved in Early 2018

10 local development micro-initiatives and 2 scientific research projects were approved respectively by the Project Selection Committee and the Board of Directors in January and April 2018. Nearly 300 projects have been approved by the Air Liquide Foundation since it was founded in 2008 and hundreds of Group employees have gotten involved.



  • Using pulmonary bacterial flora to prevent bronchiolitis – France


  • Ice Memory, creating the first archives of high-altitude glaciers in Antarctica for future generations of scientists – 2nd contribution – France


  • Support for training ophthalmology students – Burkina Faso
  • Promoting children’s rights in rural areas – India

Access to Energy

  • Distributing clean, modern and affordable cooking and lighting equipment – Togo


  • Rehabilitation through wheelchair rugby at a specialized educational center – France
  • IT training for individuals with intellectual disabilities – Spain

Access to Healthcare

  • Mobile breast cancer screening – United States
  • Building a healthcare clinic in an isolated region – Senegal
  • Providing a greater range of essential healthcare services in rural regions – Ghana


  • Medical and social assistance for homeless individuals in Tokyo – Japan
  • Integration through work: developing the composting activity of an organic market garden – Romania
