In September 2016, UNESCO published its 12th “Global Education Monitoring Report”; a document that emphasizes on the scale of the progress to be accomplished to reach the 4th United Nations Sustainable Development Goal by 2030: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and promote life-long learning opportunities for all.” When you become aware of the scale of education’s impact on economic development, you realize that the stakes are huge.

Education and training represent a major part of our Foundation’s Local Development mission and make up more than 30 % of the micro-initiatives supported. In this newsletter, we present six associations that we have chosen to support because they have a holistic view of education; from primary school to a steady, secure first job. Family’s involvement, corporate partnerships, participative pedagogy; these associations all have innovative ways of promoting this wonderful tool for development.
